Calvin J. Ho is a partner at Laishley Reed, practicing in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency law, and commercial litigation.  He is highly client-focused and always strives to provide excellent, cost-effective solutions for clients.

Mr. Ho has advised and represented Canadian and international financial institutions and other lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, licensed insolvency professionals, debtors, and individual clients on a broad range of commercial and consumer bankruptcy and insolvency and litigation matters.

Mr. Ho regularly attends on behalf of clients before the Bankruptcy Court, where he has particular expertise, and the Commercial List, and has successfully appeared before administrative tribunals and all levels of the Ontario Court, including the Court of Appeal.  Mr. Ho also has experience in other areas of law relating to financial services.

Mr. Ho is a trusted advisor and is regularly called upon for speaking engagements and presentations at industry conferences and seminars, and to clients.  He is also a past instructor of the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission Course – Commercial Law, Insolvency section, and a part-time lecturer in Business Law at York University.

Prior to joining Laishley Reed, Mr. Ho practiced for eleven years at a leading national Canadian global law firm, and previously for a number of years at a major Ontario regional law firm.  He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998.
